Our fully EN966-certified open-face
aviation helmets are
designed to be worn over the top of our Aerial Pursuits neckband
headsets or with attached headsets. The helmet is cut away at the
sides leaving room for
the headset cups to seal snugly against the helmet. A
panoramic clear visor is standard, though optional. We can also
offer beards to extend the visor for
winter flying or faster aircraft.
A note on headsets and helmets, and certification We recommend the use of our neckband headset with helmets where pilots want a separate helmet and headset. This type of headset puts no headband, apart from a fabric ribbon, inside the helmet, in line with the requirements of the European Standard for Air Sports Helmets (PR-EN966). There have been cases where having the headband of the headset inside the helmet has contributed to skull injury in an accident. We will provide this latter type of helmet/headset, but only by customer request after having understood the risks.
